Sapphires is one of the largest paintings I’ve done. I’m currently playing around with the ideas of realism but Illustrative, simple abstract shapes but very detailed elements, with also a dash of surrealism.
The artwork work is of sadness but also joy. Capturing each tear that has been shed as precious as it symbolizes our ability to feel that emotion at a given time. The tears humanise us, and they should be seen as a symbol of strength, to carry on and keep on fighting.
This painting is made on handmade papers using reclaimed parcel paper and packaging materials. I used Golden Fluid Acrylic Paints and POSCA chalk pens.
